ENGINEERING OF RAIL WELDING PLANTS

West-Теr OY is engineering of rail welding plants with conformity to requirements of the customer. Creative approach, singularity, rationality, convenience, safety, as well as cost and effectiveness – these are compulsory conditions of our activity. In 2010, our company designed a rail welding plant for the project of a high-speed railway construction in Libya in the Sirte-Benghazi section.

 

RECONSTRUCTION OF RAIL WELDING PLANT

Over the period of its existence, West-Ter Oy has been developing the equpment and their commissioning. Reconstruction of current rail welding plants became one of the company's activities. In order to solve this complex technology task, specialists of our company developed a set of equipment for technology lines, which fully meets requirements and needs of rail welding plants. By now, we are reenginireeng a rails welding plants and has rebuild equipment and cranes system for 100 long rails.

The engineering and rebulding include the following stages:

  • Reconstruction of manufacturing buildings including replacement of the first and the second welding process lines, full replacement of utility networks, construction of two new pumping stations, replacement of compressors and process infrastructure
  • Reconstruction of storage buildings, which includes construction of a storage complex for accumulation of one hundred meter rail raw material, rearrangement of railway tracks, removal of raw material storage for accumulation of twenty-five meter rails without any suspension of ongoing manufacture.

 

DATA ACQUISITION AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR RAIL WELDING PLANTS

The system acquires data from every plant system and analyze it together to present operational productivity, quality, cost, inventory and condition of technology equipment.

HIGH SPEED 100 METERS RAIL CRANES

The crane system for efficient loading and unloading of 100 meters rail is developed and operated. The key feature is the speed of loading. With warehouse for 120 km of rail track capacity (it is 60 x100 meters size), the average cycle time is 1,5 minute to catch the rail, lift it, move, put down, release and move to next rail. To achieve that the company developed automated system of rail recognition with image processing and automated rail catchers, special software to ensure fast acceleration and deceleration with stiff pantograph system. Automated control of speed, position of the catchers and the rails. The system can operate in total automated mode for distribution rails from the train to the warehouse, and load rails to technology line.

 

 

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION OF 8X100 METERS CRANES

As an option of loading long rails  simultaneous operation of eight 100 meters rail cranes is demonstrated. That means opportunity to make very productive warehouse for 800 meters rails at the rail welding plant or in  field. With possible both side and front loading.
